Well, I’m counting this one as complete, though technically all parts aren’t complete. The original goal was to buy a Laptop, and run linux on it, while keeping my main PC for Windows for programs such as Sibelius which aren’t available on Linux.
However, I got fed up with Windows when after updating and forcing a restart, it actually wouldn’t boot up at all. Had to do a complete re-install. Then, upon getting into Windows, it failed to recognise my network card. However, when running a Ubuntu Live CD, it worked perfectly.
So I compacted my files and reformated a hard drive, and now i’m running a dual boot with Ubuntu Feisty Fawn and XP Pro… though I haven’t booted into XP, mainly because the network card still doesn’t work. looking for a work around for that.
So while I don’t have a laptop, I am running Linux as my main OS. When I eventually get the money to get a Laptop, that will also run Linux, as I am really enjoying using Linux. So for me, this goal is Complete
